When will we know if we have the Zika virus?
We’ve been getting a lot of emails from readers and we wanted to share with you a quick summary of what we know about the Zika outbreak and what we expect to see next week.
What we know so far The virus has not yet infected people outside of Brazil, though the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in a statement that it’s already been confirmed in some places.
In the U.S., the virus is circulating through the air, which makes it hard to track and detect.
But according to the CDC, more than 1,400 cases have been reported in people who traveled abroad to be tested.
At the moment, it is too early to say how many of those cases are linked to travel to Zika-affected countries.
If it’s confirmed, the virus will be very dangerous.
