Obama to propose new health insurance marketplaces to replace ACA

President Barack Obama is planning to propose a new marketplaces for Americans who don’t have health insurance but want to enroll in a new health plan under the Affordable Care Act, according to a White House official.

In a conference call with reporters Tuesday, the official said Obama will announce a new insurance exchange on Wednesday, and a separate proposal to roll back some of the ACA’s provisions is on the way.

Obama said the Affordable Health Care Act will remain in place as a pillar of the country, but he wants to create a new marketplace to provide more options for those who want coverage.

“This is going to be the beginning of a new era,” Obama said.
